Message: I have noticed that all of my cedar & spruce trees that are on a western exposure have all turned a reddish brown. What is this & will they recover from it?

Message: Certain evergreens, particularly Dwarf Alberta Spruce & cedars, will sunscald or turn brown on a southern or western exposure. This is from the sun reflection off of the snow. To protect against this, wrap your evergreens with burlap in late fall. It may take awhile, but your trees will eventually outgrow the unsightly browning.
