Selecting the right perennial for your garden can be overwhelming. If you are a beginner or don’t have much time to spend on your garden you want plants that are both low maintenance and attractive. Where to start? Begin by looking at the list of winners of Perennial Plants of the Year.

The most outstanding plants are awarded the honour of being named perennial plant of the year. The Perennial of the Year must be:

1. Attractive throughout the growing season.

2. Easy to grow.

3. Suitable for a wide range of climates.

4. Easy for growers to propagate.

The Perennial Plant Association, comprised of growers, horticultural educators, garden centers and garden designers have selected the following plants for their overall exceptional quality.
